What is elearnnetwork.ca?


elearnnetwork.ca is part of Ontario's Reaching Higher Plan aimed at giving residents in small and rural communities across Eastern, Central and Western Ontario a way to further their education and skills training through eLearning courses and programs offered by Ontario’s Colleges and Universities.

We currently have 18 Centres, each with computers for students to use, high-speed Internet, and a full-time eLearning Coordinator who is ready to answer questions and help in every way they can.

Over 10,000 courses and 800 programs are available from Ontario’s Colleges and Universities and our Educational and Training Partners:

What is the mandate of elearnnetwork.ca?

The mandate of elearnnetwork.ca is to increase access to and awareness of education and training opportunities available through eLearning in Eastern, Central and Western Ontario. Now, through elearnnetwork.ca, residents can upgrade their basic skills, learn a new trade or earn a college diploma or university degree without leaving their local community.

What services are offered?

elearnnetwork.ca has 18 Centres throughout Eastern, Central and Western Ontario, each staffed with at least one full-time eLearning Coordinator. Our Centres are comfortable, quiet places to learn and have what you need to do it:

How is elearnnetwork.ca funded ?

elearnnetwork.ca is fully funded by the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.

What are the courses and programs available ?

Residents now have at their fingertips access to a greater variety of programs and courses offered by participating educational institutions.

Through elearnnetwork.ca, students have the ability to pursue and complete basic literacy courses, workplace skills, computer courses, high school courses, professional development courses, college certificates, college diplomas, undergraduate university degrees, as well as graduate degrees.

Why is there no cost to use the services and resources of elearnnetwork.ca?

The services and resources of elearnnetwork.ca are fully funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and supported by community partnerships. However, students are responsible for paying the fee for their eLearning courses.

What resources do you offer?

elearnnetwork.ca offers 18 Centres in Central, Eastern and Western Ontario, each staffed with at least one full time eLearning Coordinator. Our eLearning Centres are set up with the staffing, equipment and technology required to allow students to earn their diploma or degree onsite, without having to leave their local community.

Do I have to work on my course or program at an elearnnetwork.ca Centre, or can I do it all from home?

Whatever works best for you. As long as you have access to a computer and an Internet connection, you can complete your course wherever you like, including in the comfort of your own home. You can still count on us for support throughout your studies. If you need or want to use our facilities, simply contact the elearnnetwork.ca Centre nearest to you.

What are the requirements for using the services of elearnnetwork.ca?


The only requirement for using the services of elearnnetwork.ca is that you be interested in furthering your education!  As for courses and programs, there may be conditions for enrollment that you will be required to meet.

Are your offices wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all elearnnetwork.ca Centres are wheelchair accessible.

What are your hours of operation?


elearnnetwork.ca Centres are open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. If you cannot come in during these hours of operation, you may be able to make special arrangements with your nearest elearnnetwork.ca Centre, but by appointment only!

How can someone contact you if they are interested in furthering their education?

Do I have to be a secondary school graduate?

No, you do not have to be a secondary school graduate. The services of elearnnetwork.ca are for anyone who wants to further their education.

Is Second Career available through elearnetwork.ca?

Anyone who has been approved to further their education online through the Second Career Program may use the services of elearnnetwork.ca to do so.

Can I take courses from different institutions?

Through elearnnetwork.ca, students are welcome to enroll in online courses or programs from any of Ontario’s publicly funded Colleges and Universities.

Are there prerequisites to taking a course or a program?

Sometimes there are certain conditions that must be met before you can take a course or program, but it depends on the course, program or institution. For further information on a specific course, program or institution, contact your local elearnnetwork.ca Centre. They will help you every step of the way.

Who are your partners?

elearnnetwork.caworks in partnership with government, communities, Contact North / Contact Nord and Ontario’s Colleges and Universities.

Government
elearnnetwork.ca receives provincial funding through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Contact North / Contact Nord serves as the Administrator for elearnnetwork.ca, providing guidance based on their many years of experience in distance education.

Ontario’s Colleges and Universities
Ontario’s Colleges and Universities, as well as other educational institutions, provide elearnnetwork.ca with online access to more than 10,000 courses and 800 programs.
